Waving Goodbye (with the middle finger)
by Shimmie
I got great news this weekend. My ex is moving clear across the country! Wonderful news, believe me.
I wish her all the luck in the world. I hope she makes it out there — I really do. I want her to have a successful career and a life full of friends and love. I’m so glad for her.
Now, on a more selfish note, I’m jumping up and down. Woo hoo! This is wonderful. Now I finally feel like this town is mine again. There’s no more strings attached to her or her drama. Amen.
What have I learned from our tumultuous relationship? Never, and I mean NEVER, have a girl move to your town or into your home (especially after only dating her for six months). Once you do let a girl in your territory, you never know when or if she’ll leave.
But if you get lucky enough and she finds her way back home or, in my case, across the country, consider yourself among the few.
It feels great when they leave. Better than Christmas.
