Sophie Ellis Bextor Gets the Freemasons Treatment
by Graham
After U.K. pop diva Sophie Ellis Bextor learned she was pregnant, she naturally delayed work on her next album. Luckily, the Freemasons decided to commandeer “Heartbreak Make Me a Dancer,” one of the few tracks Sophie finished before her involuntary hiatus, and they plan to release a remixed version of the single in the coming months.
It’s unlikely that Sophie will do much promoting — she’s due in late April and is most likely averse to appearing in a music video at this time — but with such a universal theme the infectious club banger is ensured success regardless. Who hasn’t danced away their troubles after a nasty break-up?
The Freemasons remix has yet to emerge (though it recently debuted at Sydney Mardi Gras), but click here to download (right-click save as) a demo of the song Sophie posted on her myspace page last summer. It’s gay enough on its own, I can’t imagine how glittery it’ll be with Freemasons’ touch. Enjoy!
